Security Technical Implementation Guides provide security requirements for U.S. Department of Defense IT systems. Published by DISA, they provide a reference for security-focused implementation and assessment.
We develop and improve security features with reference to the applicable requirements of the DISA Application Security and Development STIG.
For ITVDesk, this work includes access controls, protected configuration, secure communication and security audit capabilities.
Key Security Features
- Secure connections. HTTPS and RTSPS, with support for HTTPS-only and RTSPS-only operation.
- Encrypted media. SRTP protection for audio and video transmission with compatible receiving systems.
- Access control. User roles, protection against repeated failed sign-in attempts, and TOTP authentication for the local user interface.
- Protected configuration and secrets. Encrypted configuration, with additional Windows protection for stored secrets and imported TLS private keys.
- Security audit. Security event recording with support for forwarding events to the Windows Application Event Log.
- Offline operation. Local operation without an Internet connection when using a valid offline license.
Protocol Implementation
ITVDesk's RTSP/RTSPS and HTTP/HTTPS server logic and ONVIF services are developed in-house. The protocol implementation uses established cryptographic libraries to protect communication and data.
